IMMERSIVE LIBRARIES AND MUSEUMS
The Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group (LIB.TWG) are responsible for implementing, defining, maintaining and evolving applications related to the provision of library and museum services related to the Immersive Education. It is open to all those who have experience with physical museums and libraries, or even digital museums and libraries. Additionally, it is open to those with experience with virtual worlds.
The LIB TWG found that the physical limitations of peoples access to information and museums and libraries was a big problem. Why not expand the access to everyone in the world that can get on the internet? The LIB TWG is dedicated to library and museum specific client and server based platform specifications. They are also responsible for the implementation of the services of Immersive Education.
Additionally, the LIB TWG promotes basic and applied research to improve knowledge of library applications and services. They also maintain an up-to-date bibliography of research papers. Promoting networking and community building among active users of Immersive Education services.
